I live near Columbia, SC. My vet is Dr. Lori Horne in Orangeburg, she
is a ferret specialist who just completed veterinary school about a year
ago. She's been great with my ferrets and dogs, and her people skills
are pretty good too (meaning that she seems to actually listen and takes
client opinions into account). She works at Carolina Veterinary Practice,
155 Willington Drive, Orangeburg SC 29118, phone is (803)536-1284.

The only downside for you is that it is a 75-80 mile trip one way (it's a
forty mile round trip for me), but it never hurts to know of a good ferret
vet even if it is somewhat distant. If you end up going there, mention me
and I'll be rewarded with a free grooming (well, my dog will, and they're
Shelties, so they need all the grooming they can get!). My name is
Barbara Smith, the one with four ferrets and two shelties.

Good luck on your move, and congrats, because you are moving to what I
think is the most beautiful, culture-filled city in the USA. I envy you!

B. Smith :-)
