I hope someone can ease my mind in relation to iGive. Possibly, those
ferret shelter operators who have been registered with iGive longer than
we have can be of help here.

I only found out about iGive in Sept. 1998 when I received a letter
stating someone had registered my shelter and there was a $40.08 check
"waiting" to be sent to us upon verification of our non-profit status.
(That original letter indicated our check would be sent within 30 days of
receipt of my documentation and then when I inquired three months later,
they told me it wouldn't be issued until March!) But, I digress....

This anonymous "someone"--on his or her own--had been "clicking" away
obviously for months to generate that amount by her/himself. (iGive will
NOT divulge the names of anyone who has joined...so THANK YOU "Anonymous
Friend" to our shelter and our fuzzies!!)

When I came on-line in Sept., I begin asking others to join iGive to help
raise funds for our Shelter kids. So, a small number of us have been
"clicking" away and we've been WATCHING our account steadily grow by about
30 to 36 cents per day per active member. We exceeded the $300 mark toward
the end of January---and I was so pleased to see our 30+ dedicated members
had raised enough to cover a major ferret surgery when needed.

However, just a few days ago, when automatically checking our Shelter's
"stats"...only $234.06 showed in our account total. I emailed iGive and
got what seemed like a "boilerplate" response that they had a "systems
correction" and the new amount was the correct amount.

Their "adjusted figure" just seems wrong since I've been watching it go
up little by little for months now and to have twenty-five percent of the
donations just disappear overnight was disconcerting to say the least.

Before I write iGive again, has any other Shelter had this happen to
them, too?

(Please email directly as I don't want to take up FML space, but appreciate
the FML as a vehicle to get this question out to all the ferret shelters
registered with iGive.) Thanks!
