Hi all!
This is meagan quinn here and I have been a fairly faithful reader for a
while but never seem to post...all my questions are either answered throught
the faq, books, or the FML already.  Today is a different story..
 
quick summary: i live in NY with my babies.  I have Keera, wonderwitch (2
1/2).  She is oficially mine.  Fezzik (fatman, 2 1/2, best buds w/ keera but
not owned by my, owned by my housemate.  they were bought at the same time)
Nicodemus, (older abused fert about 4-5 years old we rescued from a bad
situation in a frat houise).  and Cartman (the beefcake, recently aquired
and apparently the source of all the problems...)
 
Cartman is supposedly born last week of dec. '97.  purchased by inexperienced
owners on feb. 14 '98.  the store said he was MF and said no need for shots
until he is 6 onths old.  the couple listened to this.  kept the ferret in
the house till the girl's mom kicked it out.  since then it was in a garage
getting out of his cage approx.  1 per day for about 1-2 hours.
 
we all know this is horrible but they said it was the best they could do b/c
of their schedules .  that is when they handing the fatman over to me.
needless to say, cartman loved the attention, loved being out of the cage
(mine are out all night with me and whenever i am home before and after
work) and was finally learning to play without biting them in the face.  He
is supposed to be about 5 onths right now but i think he is older.  Unfort,
when he was out of the cage, his only friend was a big pitbull so he
hadlittle social skills.
 
Now, after all that babble, here is the problem, after being seperated with
few and supervised vists to the others he was integrated into their cage to
learn to play and sleep with them.  He was getting only Marshall's fert food
but now is getting M's and Iams' kitten food mix to thin him out a bit.  the
others are now eating a combo of both too.  last weekend, i notcied a few
episodes of diarrhea in the litter boxes.  I know that cartman isn't going
in the box all the time and he has the typical "marshall's food kaka" that i
have seem...so it wasn't him.  since this was the first weekend with them
sleeping together (he had jsut been to the vet with the others and they all
got distemper and rabies vaccines...vet said since he didn't get boosters
we would just continue from here and giv ehim yearly like the others)
 
anyway, the diarrhea big fezzik had is now greenish and on one occasi9on
bright green.
i know i know!!
i the greenies!!
but where did he get it from? why?
 
the pet store i called says they have no knowledge of any babies they got
with the ECE.
 
i wonder now, if cartman was exposed so young, will this have an effect int
he future??  what about fezzik?
 
i just read the fact and i am not positive that he has it but it doesn't look
good!
 
my first step is to quarantine him, new bedding, food, water, litter.  i
cahnged all the other litter the others had but what else can i do?  should
he go to the vet?
 
the latest of the poops wasn't bright greet but more of a forest green (this
is so bizarre explaining it!!)
 
they guys have mental problems but never any medical problems !!! :)  so,
other than the FAQ on ECE what else can i do????
 
i am really worried my oldest baby nico is going to get it.  he is old and
can easily catch a cold...please help me out!
 
do you have any advice.??
