                   A Kit's Sorrowed Tale

Why do you not love me,
was it something I did?
The store man, he said right,
I am a good kit

Please tell me my human,
what did I do wrong?
You used to hold me everyday
and sing me pretty songs.

I was so happy,
when back at the store.
But now I be so sad,
it be not true no more

I played and I slept,
I had food everyday.
And now I so thirsty,
but my water went away.

My bed be so stinky,
there be no fresh air.
I hungry and thirsty,
my humans no care.

Oh where be my humans,
they said they'd take care!
Of my food, of my water,
and having fresh air.

The hurt in my tummy,
I have it no more.
I getting so wobbly
I can't stand on the floor.

I tierd, I hot,
I can't cry anymore.
I want to be back
with my friends at the store.

I'd tell them about,
all my mean humans there.
I called for them often,
but they didn't care.

I can't even cry now,
can't move anymore.
me feeling so strange now,
What?? Do I see my store???

Hey! what be that bridge?!
and all that I see??
It's the Bridge, called The Rainbow,
there they'l take care of me.

I feeling much better,
My tummy be full..
Still, can you answer my question?
Why my humans were cruel?

Little kit, his new friend said,
they are not all that way.
Some humans work for ferret rights,
they work very hard everyday.

We all are sorry little one,
your Earth life....not the best.
But now your safe and very loved,
so go now kit, go rest.

Over tierd and overwhelmed, he spied a ferret pile.
He cuddled up, no pain at all,
and drifted to sleep with a smile.
