I have a question for the vets out there:

I have been told that there is a parasite of some sort in the fecal matter
of cats, and therefore pregnant women should not be around cat litter pans
during there pregnancy. Is there a similar condition/problem with ferret
fecal matter? I ask this because my wife just recently found out that she
was pregnant, and I don't want to endanger my wife or our child unduly.
Yes, I have been doing the litter pans and cleaning up the accidents since
my wife found out the news, but I thought that I would find out if anybody
out there knew anything about this, as every vet that I have talked to has
come up with the same ????????don't know?????????? expression. They all
knew about the cat deal, but not about ferrets (Boy, does that sound
familiar anyone?) Any answers to this would be greatly appreciated
(Especially if the answer is that it is not a problem with ferrets!)

We have ten of the little carpetsharks, and boy do they ever do the "throne"
thing! I have to go out of towns for weeks at a time, and I really would
like to know that my wife and child will be okay when my wife has to change
litter.

Thank-you for listening! :)
