I don't presume to be a Ferret expert, but many people have
discussed fleas and ferret baths recently, so I thought I would
throw in my $.02. I always use baby shampoo for regular baths, and
I also (when she had fleas) would use flea shampoo on my ferret.
The easiest way, IMHO, to bathe a ferret follows:

(1) Get a large plastic salad type bowl. Big enough for the ferret,
but not TOO BIG.
(2) Put 1/4 bottle of baby shampoo into the water BEFORE you put
in the ferret. This way, every inch of the ferret gets soapy water
and you don't have to hold the ferret while you rub in soap.
(3) In the other side of your kitchen sink, get the fawcet running
with warm water in a gentle stream. Have the towel over your
shoulder.
(4) Wash, rinse, dry....repeat

That's it. I have tried many ways of washing my ferret and
this is the best. She doesn't fight because you don't have to rub
soap into her coat. Also, it is quick and gets EVERYWHERE that fleas
could hide. The baby shampoo kills fleas really well, it doesn't hurt
her eyes, and she smells good afterward. After she is dry, release
her (or him). P.S. make sure you dunk their heads under (don't
flame) really quick. And watch that they don't eat the soap bubbles!
