Nadine contacted me and was concerned that people might think she was a
broker or these ferrets were hers. I apologize if that is what others
thought I meant because it was not.

To my knowledge the breeder is in Denmark and the broker is in Texas. I
don't know how Nadine came to know of the situation with the ferrets, only
that she contacted Lynda to ask for help because the "broker" was going to
dump the ferrets if they were not moved in 48 hours. I do not know what
"dump" meant but that was exactly what I was told.

As far as I know, Nadine stepped in to help the ferrets just as we did. I
had no direct correspondence with Nadine before her email that she was upset
at my post.

There were many people that came to the aid of these ferrets, and to all of
them I am extremely thankful. Each and everyone played an important part in
this saga and without their help, I don't want to think what would have
happened to the ferrets.

As for the situation with angora ferrets, this is not the first time it has
happened. I don't know if it is the same breeder or not but the Oregon
Ferret Association is dealing with a similar situation.

What is happening to the kits that bite because they have not been properly
socialized and bite trained? I agonize over this. Are they in the hands of
someone who will throw them hard against a wall or floor, kick them across
the room, break their jaws, or turn them in to be killed and tested for
rabies? Are they stuck in a cage forever and ever only be thrown a scrap of
food and a drop of water from time to time? Are they left outside to die?

I don't know how to get through to people, the seriousness of this issue. I
work with severe biters that have been abused and have nowhere else to go.
I have a 100% success rate with gentle loving care and training. What about
those ferrets that don't come to me or to others that do the same type of
work or care enough to find someone that does??????

I've seen the physical results of severe abuse. I've seen the look of
deadly fear in their eyes. I have nightmares about those I cannot reach. I
know what it is to want to turn away and not see the bad in this world. But
turning away is not going to change what happens. I chose to become
proactive. Please, won't you too?

Hugs to all. tle
