Laura McDonald wrote directly to me on bullying ferrets (thank you Laura)
since I don't get complete issues of the FML, I'm posting my response to her
query of how we deal with Mr. Bojangles who is sweet and affectionate to all
things human, anything else is fair game however!

Bo doesn't really beat up on Anais, his ferret companion, so it hasn't really
been a problem at home. He does, however, beat the shit out of the dog (1.5
lb Bo vs. 65 lb. dog!) and when he has met other ferrets he really did go for
the kill. So I have no solution. We've asked vets & others about this
problem b/c we want to adopt another ferret when Anais goes, but they've all
said there is little hope. I'm thinking now that we'll get another big,
strong ferret, one that we won't worry will get really hurt & just let them
work it out themselves (supervised of course). This has worked out pretty
well with the dog. The dog thinks that the ferret is just playing, although
he runs pretty quick when the dog gets near his feet!
