**The advice dispensed by myself in reference to FML postings is not meant
to supplant the advice of veterinarians who are in charge of the patient.
If the patient is not currently under the care of a veterinarian, the client
is recommended to take their ferret to one.**

I would think that the cat s and ferret s diseases are not the same ones,
but that is a tough call to make without knowing more of the medical stuff.
Have you vet do a work-up on the cat (feline leukemia test, FIV test, etc.)
to help with the answer.
