I had a silly dream with ferrets last night. There were a bunch of the
fuzzballs in a large shallow box. The strange thing was that some of them
were unusual colors. One was a light milk chocolate (champagne?), but when
you brushed his fur backwards, he had a dark undercoat. Another had
blue-grey guard hairs. (The other strange thing was that they stayed in
the box!)

But the truly amazing thing was what these ferrets were there for. They
were being trained to sort mail! (Not email, the real, physical kind.) You
would hand a letter to a ferret, and it would take it gently in its mouth.
Then it would puncture it with its canines. Using the holes, the furry
would hang the letter from some contraption that determined if there was
adequate postage afixed.

At that point the dream faded off, but I'm sure our fuzzies could do a fine
job. Neither rain nor sleet nor snow...well maybe the snow would slow them
down.

Linda, Richard, Joy, Belle and Caruso (Hey, I could sort mail too! Oops, it
all fell on the floor. Well, I'll just steal this magazine that's wrapped in
plastic...)
