DIGGING BOXES

Hi all!  I have had a rice box for my ferret to dig in since I got her
last February.  She still goes in once in a while (especially if you bury
treats to find) but I think she's bored with the rice.  Any suggestions
on other substances to put in there for her to dig in???  (I think I once
read peas somewhere?) I know I originally got the idea from Modern Ferret
magazine, in an issue that was from somewhere between 1999 - 2002.  Any
suggestions are appreciated.
