I just learned this bit of info.

THere are currently over 200 ferrets in 18 conservation areas across the
united states. The breeding program has been goin great, and they have been
having babies faster than expected! By the year 2008,Almost all of the
black-footed ferrets in captivity will be released in the plains. If they
stay at the pace they are now, there will be enough to take them off the
endangered list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joseph and the very happy relative to the black-footed ferret,Smokey
