Hello!
I am a new ferret owner. I am so glad that there is a support list like
this one. Although I researched a lot before I adopted Anabelle, I still
feel so insecure as I have never known anyone with ferrets before--every
hiccup, war dance, and cluck delights me and also sends me into a "Is this
normal?" stream of worried thought. So I have two main questions currently.

First and foremost, I have two lovely cats. While I've read that cats and
ferrets can get along, I have not found a lot of step-by-step guides on
trying to integrate them other than letting them smell each other for
awhile before letting them be together--supervised of course. They have
smelled each other now throughly and Anabelle has given Alexander her fair
share of kisses through her wire cage. The one time that I did try to let
Alexander(the most laid back cat) out with Anabelle, Alexander ran after
her. Should I allow this? Can anybody help me with this integration?
Currently Anabelle gets 2+ hours of seperate play time, but the cats feel
left out and I would like to let Anabelle have the run of the apartment
while I am home. Thanks.

The other question I have is...Anabelle has lots of wonderful ferret toys
and of course she mostly snubs them and goes for my rock collections. She
cannot get enough of rocks! Chewing, pushing, rolling them around. The
rolling and pushing don't bother me, but I am afraid that she will break
a tooth while chewing on them. Should I worry about this or just let her
have fun?

Thanks!
