Our youngest, Carter, does the same thing, and now our older boy, Bear, is
imitating him and doing it too.  At first, I thought maybe the bottle wasn't
working, but that's not the problem.  Carter doesn't "wipe", though -- he
whacks the thing, hard, then he'll drink the water he spills off the cage
floor.  Only then will he deign to drink from the bottle itself.  Weird
little weasel!  <G>
