hello....long time since i posted.
 
i just wanted to share some stuff about jinx.  when i forst got jinx, i
didnt know too much about what ferrets liked, so i tried everything to
see if i could find him something to use as a treat for him.  i read the
magazines and tried bananas, raisins,cat treats,ferret bandits,cheweasels...
but nothing, jinx would wrinkle that little button nose up in the air
away from them.
 
so one, i was eating some doritos and one fell and jinx attacked it and
dragged it behind his treasure chest (the couch).  i went to see what he
was doing and all i heard was...
"cccrrruuunnncch... cccrrruunnnccchhh.......", he loved it!!!!
so i would use little pieces of doritos as a treat for him.  but now as he
is older, (he will be 2 in july), he eats more healthier now and his likes
and dislikes have changed from when he was a youngin.  now... he LOVES
raisins,white raisins,dried cherries,dried pieapple,dried papaya,dried
peach,dried appricot.......any kind of dried fruit!!!!!  and he does love
the cat treat pounce too.  all his treats i put in little camera film
comtainors....so it is shake able and he can here it.  ohhhh....i also
found this new treat called "FRUIT BITES".  i found it in "PETS SUPPLIES
PLUS".  on the cover...it has a picture of a ferret and a parrot, it says
treats for all kinds of animals from ferrets to parrots, the box is really
colorful.......jinx LOVES these things.  when i first got them, i smelled
them and wow did they smell good!!!!  they smelled so fruity, they are
small little balls , in colors of white,pink and purple.  well...after
having them for a while....i was always tempted to try one for myself, so
i did.........heehee it was GOOD.
 
it seems the toys that jinx likes the most are those that i make for him.
i got a paper towel tube and put uncooked rice in it and duct taped the
ends closed and he loves that thing.  i find it in so many different
places...behind the couch, in his cage, in the hallway, under a couch
cushion.another thing i made that he loves is his paper box.  i took a
small box , carved a small "door" out of it, taped the rest of the box
shut, and filled it with shredded newspaper.  he is so funny in that!!!
i also cut small "windows" all around it so he can get more air when he is
in it.he will wanna play tag and he looks so funny after he tags me and
runs to the paper box and he jumps into it.
 
i am so sorry for all of you who have lost a ferret to the bridge,  i feel
for you.
