1. To boost energy of a ferret with insulinoma, we have found that baby
chicken food helps. Twice a day I add crushed prednisone and 2 pinches
of Splenda to sweeten about a third of a jar and Phoebe loves it. I may
soon add a third feeding of chicken without the prednisone.

2. Our Farrah lived 2 years after a partial pancreatectomy at age 4 1/2.
So far, her sister, Phoebe, has lived about 180 days after the surgery
but may be nearing her end time soon.

It's sad to see our ferrets struggle to get around and difficult to deal
with the question of when enough is enough. I'm trusting myself to know
the best time for Pheobe and hope she can enjoy life until then.
