Re: Ferret Food

The best food that we have found is IAMS kitten food for the younger ferrets
and IAMS cat food for the older ferrets .... I supplement my ferrets diet
with lax a stat (or kitty amlt) for hair balls at least twice per week and I
also give them ferretvite ,,, a vitamin supplement three times per week,,,
for their coat i give them about 1/3 of a teaspoon of ferratone (or cat
linatone) every day..... in addition tto this once or twice a week we provide
a teaspoon or so of fruit and vegetable for our ferrets, (brocolli, banana,
apple, even shredded wheat).

Although I have done little research on this and other may have greater
infomration I can extrapolate that life span will probably be related to diet
as it is in most mammals.... the incidence of cancer may be hereditary,, or
couold some of it be dietary??? those who feed inferior grades of protein
related food without a complex of vitamins found in a natural weasel diet are
probably reducing the ferrets lifespan...

[Also...] I must agree with the writer who said the list is growing to large to
reasonably handle. Perhaps sticking to the most important ferret info and
not the cute stories would be a way to better utilize this important space.

Best wishes
