Hey gang! Catching up to the back log of FML's hasn't been easy. Last
week, I started reading Novembers... I've had to do a lot of skimming but I
really hoped I'd caught all the important stuff and wrote to all those that
I should have.

Firstly, a note to Kevin... my heart goes out to you for your tragic losses
over this holiday season. Regardless of the time of year, having so many
of your loved ones pass on is heartbreaking for anyone to say the least.
Keep your courage high and your faith strong that there is light at the end
of the tunnel. My strength is with you as I battle my own with my little
Bear, and to the rest of you who are still fighting your own dragons.
There is hope... for without it, life would be meaningless.

As for me, my name is Betty, and have had the pleasure of being co-owned by
the little fur munchkins since 1985 in the lovely land of Calgary, Alberta,
Canada. I pretty much learned everything I had to know about ferrets by
the seat of my pants and one ferret book that was on the market at the
time. I purchased my first ferret from a pet store at a discount, because
he was missing an ear, apparently chewed off by his mom. I aptly named
him Vincent (as in Van Gogh). He got his buddy one month later from a
different pet store and in entered Hobbes. Within the year I adopted more
ferrets from the local shelter and have yet to turn back. With the
exception of our first two, and our babies, Mushu and Ping, all the others
were either rescues, private adoptions, or from the local SPCA. Recently,
our house has been blessed with fosters who I am sure will never leave this
house. I just love them all, and they have become a big part of my life.

In 1998 the internet was introduced at my work, and all the staff were
allowed to "play" on it for two one hour sessions a week. I could think of
no better subject to search for than on ferrets and promptly found Ferret
Central. In May of last year I joined the FML and have not regretted it
since. I have made many internet friends (as well as a few enemies - but
not intended, I assure you!) and have wondered since then, why I didn't
find this place sooner!

Thank you to all the contributors... for you have made the quest for
ferret knowledge obtainable. And thank you for the debates as they are
responsible for making us see the other sides of the issues.

Betty and Her Blur O'Fur....
In loving memory: Vincent, Hobbes, Max, Tasha, Midge, Rocko, Titch,
Smudge, and Tinder
In present glory: Chook, Taero, Bear, Mushu, Ping, Squeegie, Cherokee,
and Thalia
