I have been trying to find some up to date information on Lupron.
Here in Australia it is called Lucrin, and is only just starting to be
explored by vets for the treatment of adrenal gland disease in ferrets.
This means we don't have a lot of info.  The stuff I have been able to
find on the web appears to date from about the year 2000, with lots of
watch this space for updates.  Only I can't find the updates.  Is anybody
still using it?  Or has it just become standard practice for older
ferrets?
 
We have purchased a 1 month depot.  I know the 4 month depot is suppossed
to be more cost effective, but when I'm the only one doing it and the 1
month depot costs $660, the 4 month depot is a bit out of my price range!
 
We have managed to get a local pharmacy to go through a compounding
process in liaison with people at the University of Sydney.  But I'd
love to know the details on how it is compounded in the US.
 
Dosages back in 2000 for the 1 month depot were 500mcg.  Anyone know if
this has changed?
 
And my main question - how do you store this stuff?  We are currently
keeping the liqued component in the fridge, and the powder component in
a cupboard.  I have read that once mixed it needs to be stored in liquid
nitrogen.  But what about unmixed?  What is the protocol being used?
 
Any pointers would be appreciated.
