Just a thought.  As I was bidding on an auction to support a shelter, I
thought of something.  If you're a member of igive.com, ebay is on their
sellers list.  Which means, that if you log into Igive, then click to the
mall, select ebay, and THEN find your item and make your bid, the shelter
(or other listed charity) gets a little on every bid.  Granted, i think
ebay only gives $.03, but, it's better than nothing!
