It would possibly be way, way way to dangerous to move those surviving
ferrets out of Africa. They have a fatal illness which appears to be
contagious. If it is directly contagious or if it can be carried by
fleas, ticks, mosquitos, etc. in a different country that could cause
a ferret epizooic, killing many. Those two need to stay in Ethiopia.
With so little known more ferrets should not be brought into Ethiopia.

(Copying to Bill's FML address because i accidently sent a post on
Benedryl to the FML though it might help someone so that is fine.
That may have taken me over 3 posts with this one, though.)

Since I have heard from people who hope that the remaining two ferrets
could be moved back to the U.S. I figure it pays to point out that is
too risky because it could have the potential to start an epizooic
among ferrets.

The next moves should be the ones they have always needed to be: call
or email the vet school to set an appointment, get a 30 mile ride for
care (about an hour and half there), having testing done, have the vets
there use consulting vets who know African diseases of members of
Carnivora. It does not matter that the climate of the region is like
some parts of California; the diseases there include a hefty number
of African diseases which differ from diseases in California.
