Read a post about gates for ferrets and working 'right out of the
box' --- here is a link to a terrific ferret gate that you really
don't have to do anything to 'make it work' for ferrets....

It does not work as a swing gate, but it is perfect for ferrets --
they can't get under it or through the sides.
