Hi all.

I wanted to post a sort of non-ferret related information to the
Californians out there who might be able and willing to perhaps submit
their rebate and donate to the folks at Californians for Ferret
Legalization (http://www.ferretnews.org/) or your favorite critter
charity.

At The Inquirer's website (http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=20469)
they report that only 700,000 of the potential 14 MILLION users have
applied for the rebate.

This article points out that you don't have to provide proof of purchase
to get a rebate of $100 or less.

If you haven't claimed your piece of the Microsoft pie - now's the time
to do it! Apparently there's a Jan 8th cutoff to file for the refund if
you purchased any Microsoft products.

"The settlement is designed to compensate customers for allegedly being
overcharged by Microsoft for programs such as Windows, Word or Excel that
were purchased between Feb. 18, 1995, and Dec. 15, 2001, when the company
was accused of maintaining a near monopoly."

It would be a shame if Microsoft could claw back money that we could put
to far better use!

If everyone who is in California (or has a California address) on this
list submits - that might make a decent donation to the critter charity
of your choice.

Best Regards for 2005

Monica
