DO keep the commode lid closed. That had to have been very traumatic
and might even have been a very close call since ferrets and small dogs
HAVE drowned in toilets, so he was lucky to find enough purchase to
either pull himself up or to push off and leap out that fast. The fear
itself could have caused the one bout of green runs. Green simply means
fast transit through the GI tract. Since you say that all that was in
there was plain old water and he shows no signs of injury or other
problem beyond what sounds like one bout of fear diarrhea there should
not be another concern as long as that lid is always closed in the
future to prevent drowning.
