I heard news today that a rumor is circulating I had brought ADV to
Florida. For the record, I did visit Jacksonville Florida 3 1/2 years
ago. I did not bring any ferrets at all with me. I don't think I even
knew of ADV at that time or if it was just coming to light, was more
concerned with ECE as mine are positive on that. I now know I do have 5
positive ADV ferrets, not one is sick or having any problems, all are 4
or 5 years old by now but I don't think we knew ADV was in Dallas before
my trip. I have heard there were cases showing up in Florida but so were
there in California and other states I have not been. I had heard some
people moved to Florida from Ohio or up north and had ADV but do not know
who they were. A friend going to and from Florida/Ft Worth did bring one
ferret I had given her a year and a half later, it died of pneumonia. I
asked that it be tested for ADV, they did and it was negative.

So, again, for the record, I did visit Florida 3 1/2 years ago, I did not
bring ferrets
