When using a name that seems to be relatively popular, it's good
practice to add the state or other locator to the name. So Ferret Haven
of Spokane could be FerretHavenWA, Ferret Haven by the Sea could be
FerretHavenVA, the one near Louisville could be FerretHavenKY, etc.
You can also use a dash in a url, so if it makes it clearer:
FerretHaven-WA, FerretHaven-VA, and FerretHaven-KY.

It's a very easy workaround and has the added benefit of helping people
find the RIGHT organization when they are searching for a particular
one.

I'm glad you found that ferrethaven.com was legitimately available. Use
it well!

PS - once upon a time, .com was meant for commercial sites, .org for
nonprofit organizations, and .net was for internet service sites. This
distinction has been pretty much lost, though .gov and .edu are still
pretty much restricted to government and education sites.
