My wife just came across a sighting in February's Prevention Magazine.
Starting on page 161 there is about a four page spread on exotic animals
with paragraph on ferrets.  It is basically pretty positive saying that the
are "fun pets for apartment dwellers", they "can be litter box trained",
and "Although they are playful, they tend to be mischievous..."  It also
says they require about as much care as a cat.  EGAD!  I don't know what
cats Amy Marder (the author) has been around, but they must be terrors.
It also says that even after descenting and neutering "they still have a
strong odor", and that "some tend to be aggressive".  I guess I can buy
that some tend to be aggressive, but the blanket statement that all have a
strong odour isn't right.  Our fellas don't smell much at all.  The rest
talks about vet care, needing a cage, that they are illegal in some states,
and so forth.  Over all a positive slant.
