Actually, I found a wonderful ready-made ferret gate at Meijers of all
places. It's called the "Clear Choice Gate". It's a tension-mounted
gate, so it's perfect for renters (like us) because you don't have to
put any holes in the wall. Instead of the mesh that most gates have, it
has two clear (well, slightly frosted) panels. It stands about 2 feet
high, which is high enough for my guys, but those of you with jumpers
may need to put a tube on top, or stack two gates. It also doesn't have
any large space on the sides. The clearance between the gate and the
wall is less than 1/4 inch. It's a little expensive ($19.99), but for
me it was worth it to not have to make something. My guys LOVE being
able to see out now, and they're much happier, because we can give them
a larger area for playtime. (We're in SE Michigan, so the stores in
your area may or may not carry it.)

Bright Blessings,
Becky
