Hello everyone

I work at a large pet store chain in canada.(please don't flame me!) I've
been reading the posts about Hagen ferrets and would like to mention that
to my knowledge Hagen does not breed any animals. They buy their stock
from large independent breeders. As for ferrets in general to my knowledge
they are bought from CDC a Manitoba based breeder. They are the largest
breeder of ferrets in canada. They are delivered by plane to the nearest
airport. (in my case Pearson Int. in Toronto Canada) Then delivered to
the stores by Hagen. I do the buying for our store and sometimes I deal
with the Hagen Rep. but most of the time I call CDC directly.

As to whether or not "Hagen" ferrets are more aggressive, I have four (2
bought and 2 rescued) I don't find them any more or less aggressive. Some
of the babies are nippy and some are soooooo lovable. All the nippy ones
need is some love and attention. By the end of the first week they are
normally very gentle with ppl.

If yours are a little nippy at first i would't blame it on the ferret i
would blame it on the ppl taking care of them. You can't expect that some
kid at a pet store will know what to do with them or how to take care of
them properly. It takes a special kind of a person to take the time and
the patience to properly take care of certain animals. I wish pet store
owners would realize this. There would be a lot less animals in bad homes.

That is just my personal opinion.
Michelle
