Catherine, I am not a breeder but I know my one friend has a 3 year old who
is an inveterate nipper. They originally tried to return her to the breeder
who gave the impression of being very reluctant to take her back so they
kept her. A year and a half later we were at a show and ran into this woman
and my friend was talking about her ferrets and mentioned that Spunky was
still nippy, the breeder said "well so was her mom". I have talked to one
other AFA breeder who showed me her one hob that she loved to breed. She
said he would never win any prizes at shows for confirmation but his
personality was so sweet (and he was healthy, just not pretty) that she
continued to breed him because of that, which she thought was more
important. So even though all kits are nippy it probably doesn't hurt to
breed for personality. P.S. Catherine there are lots of breeders in SE
Michigan and the first breeder I am refering to is one. Mary
