Hi,

YES! The heart stick is a shot directly into the heart. If a ferret
isn't gassed prior, imagine the pain of a foreign object being pushed
through skin, muscle and into the heart.

Gassing the ferrets before in my experience panics them. They won't be
coming out of it to be cuddled and loved and forget the trauma. Perhaps
we attribute too many human feelings to our animals, but I'd rather
have peace of mind and a slow, relaxing death for my ferrets than their
final moments filled with fear and pain.

Leslie
