My whole take on it is close to yours, someone whom I have no idea what
their educational background is asserting claims about diets on an animal
that most vets will say they don't know this much about.

Sure, all research is born out of ideas and I can appreciate that. And
yes, I can also see extrapolating from other sources of information,
however Bob has repeatedly used that argument against using herbs and
drugs on ferrets i.e., just because something is safe for one animal
doesn't mean it is safe for all.

And I guess that since I believe nutrition as a whole of study is still
really in the dark ages (I mean come on folks, how many times have human
nutritionists done complete about faces on things?), I just cannot even
begin to imagine there is definitive word on ferret nutrition.

Its kind of like the whole salt thing in your diet and high blood
pressure. Hell they are still arguing that one. But the bottom
consensus seems to be that salt doesn't mean a thing. And yet just
a handful of years ago it was the main thing being told to high blood
pressure patients.

I am still holding out for something virus wise to show up. Adrenal has
gone through my business now three times, and it always hits multiple
ferrets when it does. I have *never* had an isolated case of adrenal nor
have I ever had *all* ferrets come down with it at the same time.

But then I am a skeptic at heart. Plus one with limited time and energy
for reading massive amounts of writing that require critical thinking.
I would have rather have had something more like a expanded abstract to
deal with than loads of references that I don't have access to or the
time to dig around in. Also would have preferred a less formal language
to deal with. Doesn't have a damn thing to do with my i.q. Or anything
but my time and inability to not fall asleep. ;-)

There is a very good saying I got from a former riding instructor of
mine, until you hear it from at least 3 completely different sources
(meaning not all friends saying it and such) take all health advise with
a grain of salt. Trust me, the ferret world has nothing on the horsey
set for potions. Lol.

Blessings,
Maggie
