I was reading about what to do to help ferrets when you're driving without
air conditioning, etc. and thought you all might enjoy an amusing story
about that. When we had our ferret fun day here in Pittsburgh, it was
pretty hot. Not bad at all in the shade, but warm. On the way home we put
a ziplock bag of ice cubes on the top (outside) of the carrier we had them
in. We put them in the pack of the pickup truck (with cap) and left for
home.

When we got home, I was mobbed by three ferrets intent on *leaping* out of
the carrier. Apparently water condensed on the inside top of the carrier
and rained down on the ferrets!! O_O They were soaking wet. I'm still not
sure if maybe the bag had a little hole in it and part of the water was from
leakage, but they were pretty darned wet. Heh. If I use ice to cool
ferrets again, I'll probably put it on the floor under a blanket to absorb
the wetness.

It did keep them cool, but I suspect they were cussing me out in ferret
lingo the whole way home. :)

Thought for the day:
If "boring women have immaculate homes," I must be very interesting!
