Your efforts are working but there is one little thing that needs to be
done. Governor Patton needs to sign or the very least ignor this bill. If
he vetos this bill, I don't think the General Assembly will try to resurect
this bill. But hey! think positive.

If you are watching what is going on Kentucky during this session you would
see that there is a positive ferret bill that has made it through the house
and senate chambers and now is waiting for the Governor Patton to sign it.
This bill (HB 776) makes the distinction between wild and domestic ferrets.
It also says that owners no longer have to buy an expensive license from the
fish and wildlife dept. in order to keep ferrets. The only truly rough
moment for this bill when a Sen. Julie Rose spoke up against the bill as
being frivolous and that her brother had a ferret once and that he had to
kill it because this animal had bitten him so hard that the it wouldn't let
go( makes you wonder what he did to provoke the animal so?). Please get
word out to your members in Kentucky and have them contact the Governor's
office and encourage him to sign this bill into law. 502-564-2611.

thank you.
