Hi all!  Our family of seven ( missing Hannah) is doing well these days;
Bilbo is bouncing all over the place, Frodo is growing like a weed, Raff
has become a regular mountain climber, and Miss Noelle is the mistress of
Escape.  Rachael has been her usual sweet self and Thufir has been playing
and exploring more since we're slowly letting them explore the new house.
 
HAWAT, however, has been a naughty girl.  One night while we were all
playing she started digging at my leg, which she does when she wants to be
picked up.  I wanted to tickle a few more tummies before I got her, but all
of a sudden she does a hit and run on the back of my knee, and it hurt like
@#$!  So... I pick her up and try to figure out what she's trying to tell
me, then put her down and play some more with the others.  BAM!  She nailed
me behind the other knee, HARD!  Now, she has been known to nip once in a
blue moon, but not as viciously as these two bites were.  I turned around to
show Miles and my knees were bleeding!!!!
 
Okay.... I have no clue as to why my sweet Miss Hawat would do this to me.
Do ferts get jealous?  Anybody got any ideas?  I have to admit, she nailed
me so hard I am a little bit afraid to have her around my feet/legs anymore.
But I don't let it affect my love for her.  I have never had a ferret bite
me like this before.
 
To the person who found the baby ferts/mink/whatever: your story almost made
me cry; I felt so bad for the babies!  Thank you for being such a kind and
selfless person to risk it all for little fur babies...May God Bless you!
 
To all who have sick babes and to those whose babes have crossed the bridge
: We are praying for you all, and wishing for speedy recoveries.  Hannah is
among the many who wait to greet the newcomers to the land of Raisins and
rivers of Ferretone.
 
(The e-mail has been messed up lately and I am writing concerning about
three days' posts here; sorry for the inconvienience!)
 
Oh, I have a question... keep in mind I have never been to a ferret show and
have no idea what I'm talking about so feel free to correct me - Got my
Asbestos jammies on! - but when a ferret wins a show, what does the ferret
get?  I know the 'slave' gets a ribbon, but my guess is that those don't
thrill the ferts that much.  Do they get toys?  A limited amount of
treats/food/etc. supplied by sponsors?  Anything????  I mean, I saw a
picture of Knuks the other day ( is she your ferret, Mary and Eric?  Or am I
giving praise to the wrong people?? :o) ) and she reminds me of my beloved
Hannah; she was all tuckered out after a show and had a ribbon to show for
it- good girl!  But I just wondered if the show people give the ferrets
personal things like toys and such.  I remember how Hannah used to have (
before our house fire destroyed everything) a tiny stuffed tiger she would
carry around in her mouth and hide it; it was her Precious, and she would
'hog' it even though the other ferrets and the cat also liked it a lot.  So
I thought it would be kind of neat if the ferret got some personal stuff out
of the deal as well.  But they probably do; like I said, I really don't know
anything.
 
Enough of my rambling.  Prayers and warm wishes to all the fuzzies and their
pets everywhere!
