Ode to Rex
 
Oh slender man of silver light
you journeyed on into a night
where angels lilt -
and starlight shines.
 
Nigh on a decade on this earth
you slept in the hearth
left pawprint marks -
and danced in spurts.
 
As now your presence is not found
in gazing all the cages round
No gentle man with wise ferret ways
You've left us  for more sunny days.
 
Rest in Peace Rex Ferretwise.
You leave us with gentle and fond memories -
a slender boy with wide dark eyes- who has now  found Bear & friends.
