Yes, this is a topic that has often come up on the FML. Whole males are
the most likely ferrets to set off allergies and can do so in people
who don't react to other ferrets. Sometimes those people are also
allergic to cats. Sometimes afterward the allergy generalizes and the
people react to any ferrets so a person has to watch for that. It
doesn't happen always, obviously, and probably not even most of the
time but it can happen.
