To Shari Diane regarding the ferret surfing under the bedsheet at 5 a.m.:
That's a ferret's way of giving you a hug!  Hee hee.  I don't think ruffles
would help -- that would just be one more thing to dig under.  You can tack
the sheet down but that's a pain when you have to take it off the bed to
wash it.  You could leave them in their cage, I guess, and let them out in
the morning.  -- Linda
