It was with great interest I read the latest AFA newletter about nutrition
and finicky ferrets. I have a very finicky eater who periodically goes
off his food for no medical reason. He has been examined by 2 vets--
qualified in ferret care-- and the three of us have come to suspect he is
psycologically disturbed. But no mind--he lo9ves to be fed from the
syringe and my hands. I have tried countless methods to wean him back to
feeding himself. Then I read a new way proposed by Bob C. Okay--I dipped
my boy's feet in the food paste and let him run around until he decided to
clean his feet up--but exactly where do you let him run around? I mopped
the floor when we were done, but it's been an hour and the dog has not come
to bed insisting she lick the leftover paste from the floor that i and the
ferret missed!! More than one way to clean the house when you'd rather
play with the little guys. Seriously, where do they run with their feet
coated in food--he did eat quite a bit in this manner but it trashed the
house. He can get out of the bathtub in one hop so that wont work either.
Suggestions?? and many thanks--Kathy, Nureyev, Cosmos, and Cramer
