Randy,

Yes! I know what you mean when you talked about your Nolan losing his
friend Louweasel to a sudden illness.

After our Squirt had his second very bad reaction to a rabies vaccination,
it wiped him out pretty good. He slept for almost twenty four hours
straight. Pippi, who dotes on Squirt, stayed with him the entire time
(and Pippi is usually one very active ferret).

Pippi slept with Squirt. And, whenever Squirt would get up and trudge to
the litter box Pippi would wake up and find him gone, and she'd go looking
for him. Pippi groomed Squirt and slept with him because she knew he
wasn't at all well.

I still find it pretty touching whenever I think about this episode in our
ferret experience.

Best wishes to all,
Mike
