Well, thank all the gods, I'm not the only one with a weasel that likes to
drink through fabric of some kind. You've got one, too, Kimberly?

Our T.D. (short for Total Disaster) had a drinking sock. It was an old
white crew sock, the kind with the blue stripes around the top. He started
by just pulling it partially over his head, playing blind man's buff until
he'd hit the water bowl, then drinking through the sock. It escalated to
crawling entirely inside and then worming his way across the floor to the
water bowl and drinking. He loved that wretched sock; would try to do
everything he could while in it. I once tossed it on a wicker chair to dry
out; he found it, crawled inside, and tried to get down. Not the brightest
idea, that. I looked up from reading in time to see an overstuffed white
sausage with blue stripes fly end over end off the chair and land with a
resounding thud that shook the floor--T.D. is a big boy.

I finally had to take it away because he would leave it partially in the
waterbowl where it would wick all the water out so no one else could drink.
After a week or so he took to dragging an old red flannel sheet-blankie to
the waterbowl and wrapping that around his head to drink. The blankie has
since been stuffed into a sleeping box; it's lived there ever since--guess
it's just too much trouble to get it out of the box.

My SO would watch T.D. doing all this and just say, "Your ferret. YOUR
ferret," in a he's-so-WEIRD tone of voice.

Am I glad someone else has an odd weasel. <g>
