Last week I took Bonnie to her veterinarian because
she'd become extremely lethargic, loosing appetite,
and then the night before the appointment she lost
use of her hind legs. Dr. Snyder ran blood tests
which showed WBC in the 7000 range, lymphocytes at
60, and glucose at 85. She also has an enlarged
spleen so we took x-rays. Dr. Snyder believes we
are looking at possible lymphposarcoma or trauma.
We decided to try Prelone before a biopsy. Her
appetite has increased (with much coaching) and she
is trying to use her back legs. She can take a few
steps before she gives up and pulls herself across
the floor. She still heads for the litter box and
as often as I can I support her back end for her
(which she feels is an invasion of privacy!) I did
note that she doesn't curl up in a normal ferret
ball position when she sleeps - her body is
stretched with her head extended. Bonnie is just 8
months old and she is one of the 8 kits turned over
to me in July. She was adopted and then brought
back for boarding till after the new year. Her
activity level was not what I'd call normal for a 7
1/2 month old when she came back for boarding so I
don't know if she had fallen or wedged herself
somewhere before, and her owner is totally out of
       contact till after christmas.

I'm afraid we are facing lymphosarcoma, and would
like input from the veterinarians and FML'rs (that
have dealt with this disease) as to their thoughts
and recommendations. I do have a copy of the
Medical FAQ and Dr. Browns article, which I've read
over and over. The health food store had to order
the Pau d' Arco Extract and it won't be in till
       Friday.

Dr. Williams I tried to e-mail you personally but
it bounced back. I've dealt with insulinoma for
years but this is the first case of lymphosarcoma
(if it truly is) and we want to do everything we
can for little Bonnie. Clyde would be so sad if
       anything happened to her.

Judith - The fuzzies and I thank you for the
wonderful donation. It will be used for Bonnies
biopsy and chemo therapy (if necessary, if not it
will go into the medical fund for future use).

Todd - Ditto! The fuzzies and I thank you for the
wonderful donation. We'll use it for Bonnies
biopsy and chemo therapy (if necessary, if not it
will go into the medical fund for future use).

God Bless all of you! Hugs to all and Happy
       Holidays! tle
