>Back to the old disposable pet syndrome.

I have a friend that does this. With horses and big dogs (the little
ones stay). We simply don't agree on animal care. I actually ended up
"taking" one of the dogs which was on a chain (maybe 6 ft.) for about 7
months straight, from 4 months to a year. She is finally settling down,
but needed a shock collar to learn to behave (and believe me that was a
hard choice). She chews everything still, occasionally bites (not hard)
and runs over my kids. But we love her and she won't leave until she
passes. Why do people do this? And my friend's five kids are learning
this too.
