On Wednesday (7/19) I will take my son's little Nikki to the vet. I have
read with interest the up and downs of other sick ferrets. I have been very
lucky that all of ours (5 total) are healthy. It is now our turn. My son is
out of town so I will take Nikki to the vet to discuss the options. She only
has one kidney so there is more risk with surgery. It hasn't been officially
diagnosed but given all the postings and the FQA I am sure it will be
adrenal. The first vet thought she was in heat. I pulled all the information
on the FQA and told my son to get another opinion because she is 2.5 years
old and has the symptoms associated with adrenal problems. This list is a
great help as a resource for information, a place to share happy times and a
friend to all in the sad times. I hope my next posting will be the story of
a successful surgery and recovery for Nikki. The duck soup is ready for her.
