Allright it's time to come out of the closet....I too scuff my ferret with
my teeth.  I got the idea from watching my two fuzzies play.  The larger of
the two Charlie (5lb panda) will scruff Oscar (3lb cinnamon) with his teeth
and Oscar immediately is submissive.  So I thought ok it works for them I'll
try, so I bite firmly just behind their ear when they act up or try to nip.
It works great and they really do seem to learn from it.  Go figure.

Sam and Samantha (demon cats from hell)
George, Gracie, and baby piglets (kamikaze guinea pigs)
Paws (the lone rat)
