What's the best way to reduce ferret odor?

I personally find the scent of ferrets soothing, but family and guests
do not share my appreciation of all smells ferrety (Well, maybe not ALL
smells...). I wash the bedding, clean the litter, and bathe them at
appropriate intervals. Still, the odor is escaping the ferret room and
roaming down the hall into the living room. What can I do so as not to
offend my guests' sensibilities?
