Dear Jason - While there is probably not a whole lot that your vet can do,
it may be that the fracture is severe enough to require amputation to
prevent chronic pain.
 
It is likely that the prescription will be cage rest, but I think it is
important that the vet looks (and possibly X-rays) the problem.
