Oddest Name:
The oddest name was "Spooky Ears". And even odder is the fact that TWO
ferrets have this exact name! One jill and one hob!
57 ferrets had Ruby/Blue eyes. Out of those ferrets 19 were thought to be
deaf. Of the deaf ferrets, 10 were of blaze/panda markings and 3 had other
odd white markings. Of the deaf ferrets, 7 were DEW, 3 were silver, 4 were
sable, 2 were chocolate, 2 were cinnamon.
Of the ferrets that were roaning (getting grey hairs in their coat), 8 were
deaf and 45 were not deaf.
43 ferrets had adrenal, 18 ferrets had insulinoma, 10 ferrets had both
adrenal and insulinoma, 12 ferrets had lymphoma, 5 ferrets had both
lymphoma and adrenal.
The oldest submitted ferret was Michael McKinnly's Amy, who when submitted
was still bringing joy to her family at 10 years of age. Sadly, since the
submission, Amy has danced over the bridge. Four additional ferrets are 9
(2 others have passed on). 3 ferrets are 8.5 and 5 ferrets are 8. 9
ferrets are 7. Congratulations to the oldsters and their owners!
Most ferrets had 6 incisors on top and between 6 to 4 on the bottom. There
were others with less and others with more, but very few.
About 75% of the ferrets had normal length of tail, 20% had long tails and
5% had short tails.
9 ferrets could not see from both eyes. 3 were due to accidents.
