It's the anniversary of my pet ferret, Shakespeares tragic death,
All this talk about Alexandra and her little Ping brought it to the
forefront for me. My Shakespeare was killed in a reclining chair and
yes, it was totally my fault. I've had that reclining chair for several
years and never had anything happen to any of my ferrets. I was always
careful. But there is always just that one time. I, to this day, have
never forgiven myself. I still cry a lot. Hhe was barely 1 yr old. I
curse myself constantly for not taking that extra precaution when
getting up from, that chair! But less face it guys, it was just an
accident. It was just an accident with Puma too. If she had any idea
something would happen to Ping she would have done all in her power to
prevent it. I'm quite sure of that. And I'm quite sure she would never
happen again. I have since gotten rid of all recliners. Never want one
again in my house. Alex is probably taken extra precautions too! why
should we question such a wonderful woman. I also think it's a great
idea to get Todd, both for Alex and her husband and for Puma. I think
it was a healthy choice. I have a pet mini Chihuahua who loves to play
with my last ferret, Gracie No Tail (formerly Gracie Girlie). The two
wrestle like two ferrets. Bella Mia, my Chi, weighs about 7 lbs and
they are similar in stature. I leave them alone alot (well, whenever
I go shopping). I don't think either one would hurt each other. Bella
thinks shes a ferret still!!! Please stop with the flaming of Alex. She
has brought so much to the Fml and Ferrets Mag. She has cheered many
and brought laughter to others. You can tell in her stories she would
do anything to keep her pets safe. I can only imagine the pain she went
thru and is still going thru. Flaming doesn't help! Accidents happen!

Alexandre, good luck with Todd! You deserve it!!

I would also like this to serve as a yearly reminder from me to be
careful of reclining chairs. They are a hidden danger. I even remind my
cat and dog friends to be careful of this. Many of them never thought
of it! I dont want any ferret to die in this manner and I would hate
to see any other person feel the hurt and pain I felt. Just love your
pets.... and your fellow FMLers!
