First of all I would like to say "Hello again!" to all my old friends.
Several of you have probably been around long enough to remember me.
Probably more-so as my maiden name, Nancy Hartman. I was owned by Percy and
Bree until a little over a year ago, and am still owned by Popcorn and
Graham.
Popcorn's blood test revealed elevated liver enzymes. Does anyone have any
idea what this might indicate? She's around 5-6 years old. I also suspect
she's got an adrenal problem. She's always had an incredible coat, and now
it is suddenly getting thin.
Graham definitely has adrenal problems. I'm being a terrible ferret-Mom.
After losing Percy and Bree within days of each other after surgery, I just
can't bring myself to take him in. No matter how much I logically know that
I should and have to. I've even been through adrenal surgery with both
Percy and Bree, and they both recovered with flying colors. I'm just
terribly, terribly gun-shy now. Graham is mostly bald now, and I know I
have to get him in before he actually starts feeling bad, or worse yet it
might become malignant.
Graham also has a large lump on his tail, near the base. My local vet says
that his tail will need to be removed.
I've been out of it for about a year. Can anyone recommend a good ferret
surgeon, in day trip distance from Newark, DE (Philadelphia/Baltimore/DC).
I don't trust who I'm going to now to actually open the kids up. (who, btw,
is not the surgeon that did Percy and Bree)
- Nancy
